From Ireland to Croatia

It's that time of the year.Summer holidays. When, where and why? The decision was made and this summer is time to visit Croatia. But where in Croatia? How from 1000 island choose THAT one and stay within the budget. As much as I would like to visit as many places as possible in one week time, I had to limit myself and choose only one. After few days of friendship whit famous google searching for ideas, my mind flew back to my childhood and that one time spent on that particular island with my parents. The smell of sea salt and pine forest deeply engraved in my memory made the choice: The island of Veli Lošinj. Next step: choose the date, book plane tickets and room for two. Now that is done, it's time to pack and fly.

The morning of travel day was quite chaotic. As usual when we are going somewhere, after first morning coffee, two of us were flying through the apartment checking if everything was packed, closing the door and heading off to the Dublin airport. Speed limits on so called high way was not the option as two of us are always late. One hour ride from Tullamore to Dublin and here we are: on f***** airport pub with cup of coffee (pint) and cigarette standing in the rain waiting for the gate. We don't even bother  to go directly on the gate as we know that we'll be walking from gate 101 to 131 and back to 110 and then 121 for few times as that particular  low budget  company just love to do last minute gate change, as they know that all passengers needs "morning exercises". And finally on the plane, dressed up almost as for winter in Oslo (you know the air condition in cold Irish morning is what all we need). Take off finally after not even an hour of delay.

Zagreb. The capital of Croatia. After 3 hours of ride we f*** off the plane and step out on sunny, hot paradise taking off 5 layers of the clothes to remain just in shorts and t-shirt. As the morning chaos was not enough, one more in front of us: to catch the last bus to the island. Taxi, bus, bike, horse whatever we could find to catch that bloody bus just 13 km from airport. Swearing, jelling to who's idea was to go on that island without the car we manage to be on the bus two minutes before the departure and be "ready" for 6 hours ride.

And finally the view was in front of us. With the room just 2 meters from the sea, I was able to breath that clear air full of freshness, sea salt and pine forest.
